In its press release, the ACMA told influencers that they are breaking the law if they are profiting “from promoting illegal games and wagering services to Australians.”
Dangers associated with using offshore unregulated platforms include a lack of consumer protection, poor data security, and loss of funds. The ACMA highlighted how young Australians who follow these influencers are particularly vulnerable to the content.
