British campaign against gambling ads slammed UK regulator for allowing access to black market casinos as ‘licensed suppliers still providing content’.
CEGA claims UKGC failed to act on information regarding unlicensed sites, that are part of the Santeda network to continue operating, with information on them reportedly passed to regulators earlier this year.
An investigation by the CEGA group into MyStake and Donbet, which are both part of the Santeda network, claimed that both firms continue to accept bets from UK punters despite regulatory awareness and highlighted the presence of games from multiple UKGC licensed suppliers.
The accusations came after numerous websites tied to the Santeda network ceased to accept any betting after 14 June when a range of B2B suppliers were removed.
CEGA highlighted the operators’ connections to several inquests, most recently the 2024 death of Ollie Long. His brother Chris Long said, that it is horrifying that more than two years on from his death, illegal sites directly linked to his case remain accessible in the UK and appear to be being supplied by the licensed sector, raising serious questions about the effectiveness of current regulation and enforcement.
