Last Thursday, McGregor took to X with a video announcing that he will run to become the next President of Ireland. The video focused largely on the topic of immigration, something which McGregor opposes. Speaking of the effects, he said: “Our tourism has sharply declined while danger on our streets has risen.”
McGregor urged Irish citizens to contact their local county councillors to ask them to nominate him to run:

In a video from March this year, now shared widely on social media, McGregor commends the President on his “inspiring” work rate while considering a map of the newly renamed Gulf of America.
