FanDuel Sportsbook is rolling out a novel in-app group parlay builder that looks set to spice up festive get-togethers.
The Flutter subsidiary is debuting its new in-app “Pass The Leg” product for the NFL’s three Thanksgiving games only, a feature that will enable bettors to enjoy group parlays alongside their traditional turkey and football gatherings.
Bettors can start or join a “Group Build” on the app, add a minimum three, maximum 25 legs to their own NFL parlay, and share it with others to include their legs. Once all the group’s wagers are in, each individual pays for their own betslip.
FanDuel’s promotional text read:
“No more texting picks or sending screenshots.”
While some social media users called the Thanksgiving group promotion with a dedicated profit boost “bad, bad stuff” and the “most dystopian thing I’ve ever seen,” others called the product “a winner” and “genius.”
According to FanDuel, the online promotion is aimed at meeting a demand for more “communal betting experiences.”
“We listened to how fans were already collaborating in group chats and family gatherings, and built a feature that brings that natural social energy directly into their betting experience,” said FanDuel’s Managing Director of Sportsbook, Karol Corcoran.
