Marcin Szoltysik Taps Out Seconds into MMA Debut

MMA fans around the world got to witness the once-in-a-lifetime scene as the Polish heavyweight fighter Marcin Szoltysik tapped out even before a punch was thrown. In the Babilon MMA 54 that took place on the same day as UFC Fight Night in Perth, Marcin Szoltysik, who had seven professional MMA bouts, immediately dropped one knee to the floor and tapped to submit to his opponent in a second.

The bizarre moment in the MMA was heavily criticized by the fans who were keen to watch the matchup between Marcin and Jacek.

Marcin Szoltysik’s Bizarre Moment in Babilon MMA 54

In the heavyweight clash between Marcin Szoltysik and Jacek Kujtowski, the MMA community witnessed something that will be remembered for ages. The Polish heavyweight MMA fighter, Marcin, did one of the strangest things ever in the cage at Babilon MMA 54 in Grudziądz, Poland, where he was seen tapping the floor just after the first bell of the fight was rung.

As soon as the opening bell rang, Szoltysik dropped to one knee and tapped the canvas several times, indicating submission. The referee immediately intervened to prevent the fight before Kujtowski, who appeared to strike out of anger. However, Szoltysik tapped again, even when Kujtowski was advancing, fist in the air, to ensure that the fight was finished.

Following the conclusion of such a bizarre moment in MMA history, neither of the fighters took their time and explain the reason for the dramatic exit. However, the promotion later posted a statement calling it one of the worst moments in the history of MMA, issuing an apology to the fans who expected a tough matchup between the heavyweights, especially after Marcin Szoltysik posted intense training clips on his official social media handle.

Similarly, this was not the first unexpected ending that involved Szoltysik, as his previous fight before Babilon MMA 54 was his only recorded fight in which he lost to Wotore 4 in a bare-knuckle 28-second MMA fight. Another bout was also booked earlier this year but cancelled. The weird submission at Babilon MMA 54 has confused fans and officials and left them wondering how the outcome will reflect on the professional record of Kujtowski.

Fans Fuming On Social Media Platforms

Right after the event ended in an unexpected situation, several MMA fans around the world took to the respective social media platforms, fuming over Marcin Szoltysik, who was not serious about the fight and the sentiments of the fans.

One of the users pointed the disrespect he did to the promotion and the fighting scene, while another user humorously wrote,

“Every time someone says “Would you get in the ring with _______ for $1 million?” I say yes. This is exactly what I would do.”

Writer’s View

As an MMA fan who loves watching fights and the dynamics behind them, it is disappointing to see how the bout between Marcin Szoltysik and Jacek Kujtowski ended, without even a punch being thrown. Marcin getting down on his knees and tapping the canvas was totally unacceptable, especially in professional fighting, where every record matters for both fighters.

It is still unclear how this fight will be recorded in Jacek’s career, but I hope the promotion takes action against Marcin for the action he took, disappointing the majority of fans across the world.
