The Atlantic City Police Department (ACPD) has reported the violent deaths of a man and a much younger woman at the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa.
ACPD officers at around 5:00pm on Sunday discovered the bodies of Wei Guo Liang, 68, and Baoyi Bowie Zheng, 36, in a hotel room at the Atlantic City casino resort. Liang was from Brooklyn and Zheng, Staten Island.
autopsies of the bodies later confirmed their mysterious deaths
According to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office (ACPO), which is investigating the incident along with its Major Crimes Unit and the ACPD, autopsies of the bodies later confirmed their mysterious deaths.
Officials said the man died of self-inflicted stab wounds, Zheng of a broken neck.
New Jersey 101.5 stated it asked the ACPO if the deaths were being looked at as a possible murder-suicide. In response, the prosecutor’s office stated: “Until an investigation is complete, our office always keeps an open mind and follows the evidence in trying to determine the manner of death.”
Until the double homicide at Borgata, its rival Ocean Casino Resort was the scene of the most recent violent murder. Last year, ex-MMA fighter Andrew Osborne stabbed a man to death in a room at the resort casino, earning himself 25 years in New Jersey state prison.
